One ofOne of the most tangible tools SCI can offer your community is an interactive community Web Portal and related online engagement strategies. The website, which is developed by SCI and a local steering committee with specific community needs and requests in mind, serves two main functions. First, it is designed to serve as the primary source for information on events, meetings, and groups in the community. Key features include a searchable guide of community resources, a community calendar and news about community events, volunteer opportunities and other happenings. While an administrator maintains the site and updates it with relevant information, the site also offers community members the ability to post their own events to a calendar, promoting a sense of community ownership and investment in the website. Second, the site also allows easy registration for a weekly eBlast highlighting key happenings with links to the community portal for more information.

Content is updated frequently by the participating local organizations.
