Programs and Services

Programs & Services: For 11 years, SCI has been increasing social capital and community engagement in Eastern Massachusetts communities.  In the process, SCI has developed tools, program models, trainings and other resources to help communities boost their social capital and thus better tackle issues of concern. We are actively seeking organizations and communities that would like to partner with SCI and leverage our social capital building expertise to address pressing issues such as health & wellness, youth success and economic development.  Below is a summary of programs and services available through SCI.

·         Social Capitalist Fellowship Community Training Program

o    Training for emerging adult community leaders.

o    Fellows implement community impact project with coaching from SCI.

·         Social Capital Workshops

o    How a social network focus can increase impact

o    Leveraging social media to increase engagement

o    Cultivating your community networks

o    Social capitalist leadership principles

·         #SCimpact Network

o    Social Capital Forums exploring link between social capital research and key social issues.

o    Access to/chance to share best practices, successful models and engagement opportunities.

o    Research on:

§  Links between social capital interventions and health & wellness and youth development outcomes

§  Social capital building best practices.

·         SCI AmeriCorps

o    SCI trains and places full-time AmeriCorps members with selected community partners in Boston, Fall River, Lynn and Woburn.

o    Members serve on one of two teams: Youth Leadership Coordinators & Volunteer Outreach Coordinators.
