Help SCI train new Social Capitalists!
We are just a few days away from our June 30 budget year end-can you help get us over the top? We are down to $4,800 left to go to reach our individual fundraising goal for the year. Donations of all sizes are a big help. Click here to donate now.
This year hasn't been easy for anyone, and we're certainly no exception. But I'm excited about how we're approaching the finish line. Last Saturday, SCI youth leaders from Dorchester, Lynn, Woburn and Milford (our newest Youth Council location) gathered at Bunker Hill Community College to share what they had accomplished-you can read more about the event by clicking here and watch their "Speak Up for Healthy Teen Relationships" PSA here. In addition, our six new locations replicating the SCI community portal tool are gaining a lot of traction for their sites as we approach year-end.
As I mentioned in our recent update, SCI has adopted a new strategic focus on "Developing Social Capitalists" to collaborate effectively, make connections, reach across differences, and nurture social networks to make a difference. Our plan to codify our seven years of experience into a comprehensive Social Capitalist Curriculum has begun to garner support from people like you and grant makers alike. In fact, with this recent support we're now working on a very timely unit, "Developing Social Capitalists "Social Capital at Work for You: How to Expand and Mobilize Your Networks to Achieve Your Goals."
Our goal in the coming year is to train 220 new Social Capitalists who will use the skills they gain to recruit 1,600 citizens to volunteer and participate in civic life. Achieving our year-end fundraising goals will help us focus on developing the leaders our communities need so much in these times. Please consider a donation today, of any amount you can afford, to help us meet our goal. You can donate securely online here, or mail a contribution to SCI at 165M New Boston St. Suite 233, Woburn, MA 01801.
Thanks for your interest & support! Have a great summer (hoping we get one here in the Boston area).
David
