Cultural Connections Dinner

SCI, the YMCA International Learning Center and the Woburn Public Library launched their first ever Cultural Connections Dinner, a special celebration of diversity and community in which residents of Woburn came together for great food and conversation. We'd like to thank our wonderful facilitators, the YMCA International Learning Center and the Woburn Public Library for making this dinner possible. The Cultural Connections Dinner embodies SCI's vision of creating a more inclusive community that strives to integrate individuals from ALL backgrounds, and we couldn't thank everyone enough for coming together to make it happen.

This dinner is part of numerous initiatives SCI is developing to bring people of diverse backgrounds together to create a welcoming community in which residents feel encouraged to build relationships with newcomers. By strengthening the ties within our community, we become more civically engaged and more willing to lend a hand to those in need. This is all part of what it means to build social capital, an essential tool that makes communities stronger and resilient in the face of adversity. We will be hosting more Cultural Connections Dinners over the course of the year in which residents and newcomers are strongly encouraged to participate and get to know their neighbors, so stay tuned for more!
