    SCI Development Associate Wanted

SCI is embarking upon a stage of significant growth, with our budget more than doubling as we add 20 full-time AmeriCorps members in our three current communities and develop new strategies for expanding our impact across Massachusetts. We are recruiting to fill a new Development Associate position to implement the fundraising activities needed to support our growth. The Development Associate will support SCI's fundraising efforts by running the annual event, managing the grant proposal process, and managing the day-to-day development systems. View the full job description by clicking here. Please help us find great candidates for the position by forwarding this announcement.

And while you are thinking about people in your network that might be interested in joining us at SCI, we do still have a few AmeriCorps positions open. Click here for the full position description.

SCI Social Innovation Forum Breakfast Oct. 23

The Social Innovation Forum is hosting a breakfast presentation for SCI at the Fiduciary Trust Company, 175 Federal Street, from 8-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23. This is a great chance to hear in person about SCI's recent accomplishment and growth plans. SCI participated in the first Social Innovation Forum back in 2003, and appreciate the opportunity to present our latest plans to people in the SCI and Social Innovation Forum networks. Please let me know if you'd like to attend or would like more information.

Civic Engagement Summit Nov. 16 - Register Now!

I hope that you will consider joining SCI at the historic Massachusetts Civic Engagement Summit on Friday, November 16 in Worcester. This summit will convene formal and informal leaders from business, government, and community organizations, to discuss the state of civic engagement in our Commonwealth and how to build on momentum that has been generated recently to revitalize our civic life. This topic lies at the heart of SCI's mission, and we're happy to be an active member of the Summit planning committee. We've got a great lineup of speakers for this event, including Governor Deval Patrick.

There will be five in-depth program tracks on civic engagement topics, including one I am moderating on Social Capital, Diverse Neighborhoods and Networks. Please review the Summit website for more information! Please let me know if you'd like more information about joining as a participant or sponsor.
