The Group getting food at the Wine PairingFood is a great way to bring people together, and enjoying some good wine along with the food doesn't hurt conversation either! We definitely put together the ingredients for a fun event last night at the Griffin Museum in Winchester.  Read more

Upcoming Event: Putting Social Media to Work for Your Business

Next Tuesday, April 26, I will be doing a presentation on "Putting Social Media to Work for Your Business" at the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce (HACC) Business After Hours event at Fisher College.  Registration is at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation starting at 6 p.m.  The free event is open to non-members but requires an RSVP. Today (Wednesday 4/20) is the RSVP deadline, if you are reading this after that date, check with the HACC office to see if there is still room.  Call 617.353.1114 or email events AT hacc.com to save a spot for yourself.

The presentation will be geared to those fairly new to using social media for their business. I'll be reviewing some benefits to using social media, how to develop an appropriate strategy, and some basic tips for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and FourSquare.  I'll post the slides following the event. More details can be found in the attached flyer.

Civic Engagement & Social Change Events This Week

I'm doing a workshop on Wednesday with Dave Weed of Healthy City Fall River at the Southeastern Mass. Civic Engagement Summit, a regional event at UMass Dartmouth, inspired in part by the statewide Civic Engagement Summit SCI and many other groups put together during the fall of 2007.  Now that http://myfallriver.org, one of our new network community websites is up in running, we find ourselves in Southeastern Mass. quite a bit.  You can learn more about the event here:  http://www.umassd.edu/engage/cce/summit.cfm

Thursday evening, I'll be joining a panel & community dialogue session on Social Change hosted by the New Prosperity Initiative at the Boston Public Library.  Should be an interesting conversation, feel free to join us!  Details in the attached press release.
